Marija Koruga was born in 1988 in Zagreb, Croatia. In 2012 she received her master's degree in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb. She is a member of the Croatian Association of Artists and the Croatian Freelance Artist Association. She exhibited in Croatia, Slovenia, Austria, France and Germany on many group and nine solo exhibitions. Her paintings have been a part of scenographies such as those by BBC series production. She was a winner of the „Erste fragments“ purchase award. In 2016. she was a part of an artist residency Cité des Arts Paris, and in 2018. participated in a residency program „Deconstruction of Painting“ in Leipzig. She lives and works in Berlin.
